- Gmud - The most commonly used mud client, generally. Supports
triggers, aliases, speedwalking, and rarely crashes. Excellent for
beginners, or people who want a nice reliable, simple client.
- ZMud - Produced by ZuggSoft, this client is not free, like
Gmud.
But it has the most features, and allows for sophisticated 'scripting'
and automation. An automap feature is also available. Touted by many as
the 'best' client - its also reviled by some as a bug-infested,
crash-prone disaster. I don't use it, but many other people do. Many
hardcore mudders swear by it. There's supposed to be an older version of it
out there, that has a hack available to make it free. I don't know where to
get it.
- MudMaster 2000 - The client I use. I used to use
Gmud, but then decided I
wanted to start learning to script, and since MudMaster was free, I
decided to give it a whirl. It has most of the features of Zmud, with
the exception of a 'wait' function, and automapping. But it's FREE! And
it's never crashed on me.
- Rapscallion - An Apple Mud Client.
Ick. But seriously, of the few Mac
users I know out there that mud, I've heard of this one. Can't review it
though.
- TinyFugue - I've heard some good things about this client - but
haven't explored it much - except that some UNIX users like it. But
they're all a bunch of freaks, so who knows?
- Portal - My deepest apologies. I don't know much about this client,
except that its free, but has advertisements in it. Still, it has some
advanced features.
